All 8 Classes
Ragnarok: The New World launches with eight base classes. Thanks to the Job Freedom system, a single character can freely switch between all of them, with free stat and skill resets on every change.
The 8 Launch Classes
Swordsman
Melee frontline class. Advances to Knight as its second job.
Mage
AoE-focused magic damage dealer. Advances to Wizard.
Archer
Ranged physical damage dealer. Advances to Hunter.
Acolyte
Support and healing class. Advances to Priest.
Thief
Fast, evasive melee/burst class. Advances to Assassin.
Merchant
Economy and crafting-focused class. Advances to Blacksmith.
Gunslinger
Ranged firearm damage dealer built around swapping weapon types mid-fight. Unlike the other classes, it has no second job advancement — it grows through its skill tree and weapon options instead.
Druid New
The franchise's newest class, debuting in this title. See below for details.
Druid: The New Class
Druid is Ragnarok: The New World's headline new class, marketed under the tagline "One Class, Three Ultimate Experiences." It's a three-form hybrid that switches between:
- Werewolf — a melee form
- Wereraptor (also called "Bird-Man" in official promo copy) — a ranged form
- Human Arcanist (also called "Nature Mage") — a nature-magic caster form
The official Steam description bills it as the first time this style of Druid class has appeared in a mobile Ragnarok game, letting one class cover melee, ranged, and magic playstyles depending on which form you're in. Its second-job advancement path is not officially confirmed; some fan wikis describe a Karnos → Alitea progression, while others describe Druid as having no second job at all. Treat this as unverified until Gravity confirms it directly.
Weapons: The Gunslinger Weapon-Swap System
The clearest confirmed weapon mechanic so far belongs to the Gunslinger, which swaps between weapon types mid-combat via a hotkey (a roughly half-second swap animation during which you can still move but not attack). Each weapon keeps its own independent refinement level, card slots, and element, so gearing a Gunslinger means investing in more than one weapon at once. Community build guides describe swapping between a ranged option (rifle, shotgun, or pistol depending on the guide) and a close-range option (dagger or sword) depending on the fight. Exact weapon names vary between community sources, so treat specific weapon-type lists as fan-reported rather than an official catalogue until Gravity documents them directly.
Other classes use more traditional Ragnarok weapon categories tied to their type (swords and spears for Swordsman/Knight, bows for Archer/Hunter, staves for Mage/Wizard, and so on), consistent with the series' history, though Gravity has not yet published a full official weapon-type list for every class.
Changing Classes
Because of the Job Freedom system, you are never locked into your first pick. Stat and skill resets are free every time you change jobs, so trying multiple classes on one character carries no long-term penalty.
